1924 CANNIESBURN
|
So began 1924, the last year of golf at Canniesburn. Maintenance continued on the course though it must have been
difficult for the Greenkeeper to be enthusiastic when he knew that the course was to be abandoned in a few months.
Competitions and medals continued through the summer with a new course record of 70 being set in September by Hugh
Dickson, one of the Club’s outstanding golfers. Hugh Dickson also won the very last medal to be played at Canniesburn in
November.
November saw the closure of the Canniesburn Clubhouse. |
