Windyhill was founded in 1908 under the name of Canniesburn Golf Club and was originally located at Canniesburn Toll in the North West of Glasgow.

In 1924 the club relocated to it’s present site in North Bearsden (an area now known as Baljaffray) and changed it’s name to Windyhill Golf Club.

The course was designed by 5-times British Open winner James Braid and is considered one of his finest…. (although it has undergone some minor modifications since then !)

Our past champions include Janice Moodie (1992 Scottish Ladies Champion, Curtis Cup Member and a victorious member of the Solheim Cup Team of 2000) and Andrew McArthur (2002 Scottish Amateur Champion and current Challenge Tour player).

 

Our current Mens Champion is Kevin Smyth who triumphed for the eighth time this year and has notched up successes in the last three decades !

Our current Ladies Champion is Carol Whyte, her fourth success to date.

Last, but not least, our current Seniors Champion this year is Donnie Lindsay
